MeraGotra is designed as a community-assisted directory of villages, communities and gotra records. Its purpose is to document heritage, not rank communities or make claims about population, social status or precedence.

Community-submitted records can be incomplete or disputed. Public records should include sources where possible, and anyone may report a correction.

Village names and administrative hierarchy should be sourced from official directories. Gotra information requires separate community/source verification.
